HiBob is a globally-present business with entities in eight countries, including the US, the UK, and Israel. The company was named to the Forbes Cloud 100 two years in a row, in 2022 and 2023. It is known for its innovative, intuitive, and data-driven HR platform that helps companies make the world a better place and build enhanced employee experiences. It also appeared in TIME Magazine’s 100 Best Inventions of 2022.

When HiBob approached Newxel, they were already in the midst of a challenging quest to find a highly skilled senior back-end developer proficient in Kotlin/Scala tech stack for web development. After three months of unsuccessful searches with another vendor, our client was on the brink of abandoning the Ukrainian market. Fortunately, HiBob reached out to Newxel’s business development manager and within a month, we initiated the process of identifying and sourcing suitable talent. Was it a challenge? For sure! But, we aimed to prove our strong expertise, which is why we decided to take the challenge on.
It was a complicated case, stemming only from the scarcity of the skill set required but also from the rigorous management expectations, particularly in terms of achieving a seamless match with HiBob’s distinctive culture. However, our dedicated recruitment team rose to the occasion, leaving no stone unturned to find the right people.
Within the span of a few weeks following our initial contact, we effectively presented several candidates who possessed the necessary specialization and relevant industry experience. Despite the difficulties, we successfully identified an individual whose skills and attributes were a perfect 101% match.
The successful and swift hiring of the first four back-end developers for teams of different managers in Israel was only stage one in our collaboration. Afterward, the client decided to expand his team, which was driven by the need for continual development of new product components which required new teams.
Now we were tasked with finding a site manager who could gather a team of 6 specialists under their leadership in Ukraine. Initially focused solely on backend developers, our recruitment efforts expanded to include front-end developers and product managers as we progressed.
Now, we’re onto stage three – globalization – hiring a Team Lead and assembling a team for them in Romania which is another challenging event.
So where we, Newxel and HiBob, are now? Starting collaboration in 2021, our partnership flourished, resulting in a highly skilled offshore dedicated development team that consists of 17 talents. Through these months among others, we had:
– dozens of meetings with the client
– candidate rejections because ‘he/she is a perfect specialist but doesn’t fit HiBob culture’
– nurtured a hybrid remote culture which helped bring the team together.
All this helped us to deeply understand our client, their business, and values. And the excellent work of our recruitment department has opened new horizons for us. In the very near future, we are preparing to start searching for a team for HiBob in Portugal. Globalization within the framework of our cooperation is striving to go further.
