As a Master Data Specialist, you will assist in the management of Master and Reference data including collection and storage of data, and perform data classification across all bank data.
Also, you will take part in managing all third-party data contracts and ensure the best consumption of that data across bank’s overall system and process.
Responsibilities
Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Enterprise Master Data and Classification policies, procedures & controls over different business processes and sources of Metadata
- Comply with all relevant departmental policies, processes, standards of operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Day-to-day operations
- Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
Master & Reference Data Management
- Maintain Data & information classification standards and matrix
- Perform data classification across all bank data including all data management classes following a data classification strategy
- Classify the data based on criticality, confidentiality, and integrity aligning with Security and business-standard
- Identify and manage the Master and Reference data within the bank to ensure that all the common core “master” and “reference” information is accurate and stored effectively
- Review and amend the current architecture and business process to ensure that processes and systems align with the identified Master & Reference data, both consuming and updating the repositories
- Recommend changes to the Bank data architecture to enhance the current business process and technical architecture
- Review the usage of master and reference information in the bank’s systems and business processes to ensure the accuracy of the data
- Develop procedures to maintain the master and reference information in alignment with the data governance principles
- Deliver solutions for integration with third-party data sources
- Support effective consumption of 3rd party data by business processes
Communication and Transfer of Knowledge
- Liaise with IT to ensure that they are updated and well-informed about the approach to Master data management
- Liaise with businesses to ensure the accuracy of all data classification
- Work under the direction of the Head of Master Data & Classification Management Section to consistently undertake the role of Enterprise Master Data Management specialist at all levels
Continuous Improvement
- Identify & contribute to opportunities for continuous improvement of Master and Reference Data Management processes and practices
- Consider the suitability of the Bank of ‘International best practice’, for the improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement in the domain of Master and Reference Data Management
Reporting
- Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
- Safety, Quality & Environment
- Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS/Computer Science of Information Technology
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in data management
- Good knowledge of Master & Reference Data Management approaches
- Fluent English

- In-depth knowledge of the architecture required for data management Understanding of the bank’s strategy, objectives, products, and services
- Knowledge of Master & Reference Data Management approaches, methods, and technologies
- Knowledge of the operations, products, and services of Banks and Financial institutions
- Knowledge of Oracle EDW data model for banking and financial institutions
- Understanding of Enterprise Business Intelligence and Reporting principles and key components
- Knowledge of Data Management concepts and techniques
- Understanding the market trends and competitor’s awareness
- Understanding of analytical applications development and usage to support business decision-making
