The Role
The hardest part of this job is the data. You’ll be building dashboards and visualizations that make complex cloud cost data legible to enterprise finance and engineering teams simultaneously — that means the UI work isn’t decorative, it’s load-bearing. You’ll own features end-to-end across a React/TypeScript frontend and a Node.js + Python backend, and you’ll spend roughly half your time on bugs and performance rather than greenfield work — so the role rewards engineers who get satisfaction from making things right, not just shipping things new.
About the Product
A modern FinOps platform used by enterprise customers worldwide to understand, optimize, and govern their cloud spend. The system ingests large-scale cloud billing and usage data and surfaces it through analytical dashboards, workflows, and integrations — the kind of product where a slow render or a misleading chart has real financial consequences for the customer.
The Stack: The frontend is React + TypeScript, the backend splits between Node.js/TypeScript and Python depending on service. Data lives in DynamoDB, BigQuery, and SQL/NoSQL. Infrastructure runs fully on AWS. The expectation is genuine fluency on the frontend side with real — not surface-level — backend experience on both Python and Node.js. You’re not a frontend engineer who touches Python occasionally; you’re someone who can architect and ship across the full layer without asking for help on either side.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and implementing advanced analytical dashboards and data-heavy UI features in React + TypeScript — graphs, visualizations, complex flows with large datasets
- Owning features end-to-end: from architecture and implementation through testing and deployment, with minimal handoffs
- Building and maintaining backend APIs and server-side logic in Node.js and Python as part of the full feature lifecycle
- Working with cloud-scale data sources including DynamoDB, BigQuery, and SQL/NoSQL stores
- Diagnosing and fixing bugs and performance issues across the stack — this is roughly half the role over time, treat it as a first-class responsibility
- Operating in a full AWS environment and contributing to cloud-native architecture decisions
- Using AI-assisted development tooling as part of your standard workflow, not as an experiment
What We Expect
Must-have
- 6+ years of hands-on product engineering experience (not agency, not primarily consulting)
- Strong React + TypeScript expertise, with genuine depth in frontend architecture, state management, and performance
- 2+ years of Python backend experience building APIs and data processes
- Solid Node.js/TypeScript backend work — this is the glue layer between frontend and data services
- Proven delivery of complex, data-heavy UI features — charts, graphs, visualizations at scale
- Experience with databases across DynamoDB, BigQuery, or SQL/NoSQL in production
- Full AWS environment experience
- Strong English communication — this is a remote, cross-functional setup
- B2B SaaS or data-centric product background
Nice to have
- Familiarity with FinOps domain, cloud billing data, or cost management tooling
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architecture beyond standard app deployment
