Requirements
- 8+ years of backend development experience (Java, C#, Python, Golang)
- Solid experience with functional programming & microservices
- Experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Well-versed with git-flow – you’re a git power user.
- Good understanding of SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mentality – you like to see things through.
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills

- Backend development experience in Kotlin
- Hands-on experience working with 3rd-party APIs, async processing, error handling, retries, and unexpected behaviors.
- Experience with event-driven design and resilient systems.
- Experience designing for fault tolerance, scalability, and self-healing systems.
- A knack for AI-enhanced vibe engineering – leveraging tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, or custom scripts to boost productivity, automate routine tasks, and bring some creative energy into your workflow.
Responsibilities
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be key in developing resilient and scalable payroll integrations. This means:
- Owning the entire development cycle from technical design to coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Handling third-party APIs that can be unpredictable designing integrations for flexibility and reliability.
- Working in an async-heavy environment with event-driven workflows, background jobs, and failure recovery mechanisms.
- Collaborating with product, frontend, and external partners to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Continuously improving performance, observability, and system reliability.
