Our global client is looking for a Lead System Design Engineer to lead a defined and strategic area of technical expertise with a high degree of autonomy, considering business and customer dimensions.

This role is a great opportunity to go beyond specific product projects and work from a broader perspective, developing and securing required competencies within the company in a defined, top-critical, and strategic technology area.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead a defined and strategic area of technical expertise with a focus on business and customer dimensions
  • Work from a broader perspective, beyond specific product projects, and consider the entire lifecycle of development
  • Actively participate in feasibility studies, early concept investigations, and continuous improvement actions 
  • Collaborate with internal teams, and external partners, and participate in standardization committees and industry forums
  • Develop and secure required competencies within the company in a defined, top-critical, and strategic technology area
  • Coach team members in architectural principles and strategies, fostering a culture of excellence
  • Take an active part in the long-term development of the complete system, defining solution intent for all aspects
  • Develop platform, system architecture, technical strategies, and roadmaps to drive innovation and advancement
  • Approve EE system-related changes and endorse strategies for EE systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and relevant regulations to inform decision-making
  • Drive the development of embedded software and system processes, including toolchains and CI/CD practices
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of function allocation, pin-outs, signal communications, CAN communication, and Autosar principles

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in embedded software and system development, with a strong knowledge of SW development processes and toolchains
  • Proficient in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Solid understanding of function allocation, pin-outs, signal communications, CAN communication, and Autosar principles
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and coach team members in architectural principles and strategies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement
  • Effective communication and networking skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term and contribute to the development of the complete system
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Degree in engineering or a related field is required, with advanced qualifications preferred
