We are seeking a talented Elixir Backend Developer to join our growing team and help build high-load distributed systems powering high-volume mobile applications. You will be part of a small, experienced, and passionate team including access to a member of the Elixir Core team focused on building scalable, reliable, and innovative backend solutions for users around the world.
Effective communication and collaboration with the Product Owner will be crucial to ensure alignment of development efforts with business objectives. You will work remotely, and your role will involve adapting to a startup culture that values both innovation and practical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using Elixir and Phoenix Live View
- Work on high-performance, real-time systems
- Optimize system performance and ensure reliability
- Design and implement scalable backend systems for our white-label mobile platform.
- Build and maintain performance APIs that deliver seamless experiences for thousands of concurrent users.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and product managers to develop innovative features.
- Apply security best practices and ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the development of tools that empower creators to build and manage their own platforms.
- Continuously improve platform performance, conduct load testing, and debug live systems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of commercial experience with Elixir
- Solid understanding of scalable, resilient, and high-availability systems
- Excellent code craftsmanship, with a focus on code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including query profiling and optimization
- Experience with message queues, caching strategies, and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Familiarity with Linux server management, deployment tooling, and monitoring/alerting solutions
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including the Product Owner and other stakeholders
- Proficient in English – В2

- Experience with Phoenix LiveView and Tailwind CSS
- Knowledge of Terraform and modern DevOps practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience leading or mentoring a development team
